About Us

We are Southern Snacks of Englewood, owned by Ron and Cindy Ortiz. We are located in Englewood, Florida, a tiny fishing village on the West coast, directly between Sarasota and Fort Myers. We offer premium, gourmet tasting products, at very reasonable prices. Along with timely service, our goal is the total satisfaction for you and your taste buds.

We are involved in youth sports, and NHRA & IHRA drag racing. We have over 40 years experience cumulative in youth sports. Ron has coached Little League, Senior League, and Big League baseball. He has also coached all levels of Pop Warner football, and is currently active as a coach in the Englewood Pop Warner Organization. Cindy has been a cheerleading coach, board member, car pooler, event organizer, and avid supporter.

We compete at NHRA and IHRA drag races in "Stock Eliminator", with our 1967 Plymouth Belvedere. It is powered by a '67 Chrysler 273 cubic inch engine, with a 2 barrel carburetor. It has run a best elapsed time of 14.46 seconds in the quarter mile at 91.01 miles per hour. Not bad for a stock production automobile weighing 3670 lbs. You can find us at selected NHRA & IHRA drag racing events. Stop by our pit area for some quality samples of our gourmet products.

We also have the Southern Snacks Motorsports Team which competes at selected NHRA & IHRA drag racing events. The team consists of Alan Peters K/Stock 1967 Chevy Camaro, Steve Hunt's Super Comp dragster, Dave Scott's Super Gas 1970 Chevy Nova, Kevin MacNicol's Super Street 1978 Pontiac Trans Am, Truman Field's trio of 1968 Pontiac Firebirds running C/S, A/PS, & B/PS. Our "Northern Connection Team" consists of the high flying Camaros of Ron & Lincoln Morehead. When you are in the pits, stop by and see us, you are always welcome.
